About the Journal
The Proceedings of the International Conference on Special Education (e-ISSN 2948-4731) is a compilation of scholarly works and peer-reviewed research papers in the field of special education, presented at the biennial International Conference on Special Education organized by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Special Educational Needs (SEAMEO SEN). These published articles are available in both Bahasa Melayu and English languages. The editorial content belongs to SEAMEO SEN, while authors retain the copyrights to their respective articles. All submitted articles undergo a rigorous double-blind review process for evaluation.
Current Issue
The 6th International Conference on Special Education 2025 (ICSE 2025) was hosted at UCSI Hotel Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, from July 26th to 27th, providing a platform for various stakeholders in Disability-Inclusive Education. Participants, including prominent speakers, educators, researchers, NGOs, parents, postgraduate students, policymakers and officials from Ministries of Education, gathered to share insights and ideas through diverse session formats. The conference, centered around the theme "Technology for Disabilities: A Path to Inclusion", aligned with UNESCO's initiatives and emphasized Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4). ICSE 2025 featured 32 full papers in its proceedings and 21 in indexed journals, showcasing advancements and innovations in Disability-Inclusive Education. The conference welcomed 327 attendees, including speakers, paper presenters, participants, innovator finalists, workshop presenters and exhibitors representing over 20 countries worldwide. The closing ceremony was graced by The Honourable Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Sarawak, marking a significant stride in the belief that technology holds immense potential not only to support learning but also to transform lives, offering new pathways to accessibility, participation and empowerment for all learners.
